Grading The Cowboys Draft Class

Round 1. Byron Jones, CB Connecticut: They drafted a need with this pick. He plays hard, but like most tall cornerbacks he plays stiff. He's very explosive and will help the defense right away.
Grade A

Round 2. Randy Gregory, OLB Nebraska: He has a lot of talent to play at a high level in the NFL. He does have a lot of red flags off the field. Grade B-

Round 3. Chaz Green, T Florida: He will play right tackle in the NFL. He may not start right away but he is offensive line depth.  Grade B-

Round 4. Damien Wilson, ILB Minnesota: The Cowboys were in need for linebackers this year. He is a run and chase type of linebacker who was highly productive in college despite being a average athlete. Grade C-

Round 5. Ryan Russell, OLB Perdue:  He can be dominated by some of the bigger offensive tackles. He has everything to be a highly productive outside linebacker in the a 3-4 defense. Grade C+

Round 7. Mark Nzcocha, OLB Wyoming: He's a project with the athleticism that coach like to develop. He is a lot like Howard Jones of the Steelers. He may need to be put on the practices squad for a season or two. Grade C+

Round 7. Laurence Gibson, T Virginia Tech: The cowboys got more offensive line depth at this pick. He is a very inconsistent pass blocker who may need to be on a practice squad for a year. Grade C-

Round 7. Geoff Swaim, TE Texas: He's one I thought would go undrafted, but he will have a chance to compete for a roster spot. Grade D+

Final Grade C+

Grading The Bills Draft Class

Round 2. Ronald Darby, CB Florida State:  The Bills are all ready stacked at cornerback with Leodis McKelvin and Stephon Gilmore. What you get with Darby is a corner that his quick feet and is fiesty.
He does have trouble find the ball with his back toward the quarterback or facing him. Grade B-

Round 3. John Miller, G Louisville: He's very strong and physical at the point of attack. He does need to work on getting better at run blocking. Grade B-

Round 5. Karlos Williams, RB Florida State: The Bills are already stacked at running back With Lesean McCoy, Fred Jackson, and Bryce Brown. He's a physical runner who best fits a power run scheme. He's a down field one-cut runner who can break tackles at the second level. He does have on and off red flags. Grade C-

Round 6. Tony Steward, LB Clemson: He is a run stopping linebacker who is more of a inside linebacker the outside. Grade D

Round 6. Nick O'Leary, TE Florida State: He has a skill set like that of Charles Clay and Chris Gragg of the Bills. What you get with O'Leary is someone with good hands and route running. He can't run block to well. Grade D+

Round 7. Dezmin Lewis, WR Central Arkansas:  He's a small school offensive weapon that could be a 4th receiver on any NFL team. He was at the Senior Bowl where he flashed potential at times. Grade C+

Grading The Dolphins Draft Class

Round 1. Devonte Parker, WR  Louisville: He's a big body receiver at 6'3 209. He was coming off  foot surgery last season, But he played in 6 games last season and caught 43 basses for 855 yard with a 19.9 yard average and 5 touchdowns. Grade A

Round 2. Jordan Phillips, DT Oklahoma: He has first round talent and stats in his college career.
He can dominate at the point of attack. He controls the run game and he has nice pass rush ability.
He reminds me of Terrance Knighton of the Redskins. He does have questionable football character.
Grade B-

Round 4. Jamil Douglas, G Arizona State: What he bring is offensive line versatility to a Dolphins offensive line that struggled in 2014. He's best suited to play guard in the NFL. He has good awareness to pickup  defensive line stunts and blitzing linebackers. Grade A

Round 5. Bobby McCain, CB Memphis: He has a high ceiling at a slot corner. He is on the smaller side at 5'9 195 but he is as tough as nails and has nice ball hawking skills. Grade B

Round 5. Jay Ajayi, RB Boise State: He is a draft steal in the 5th round. He was projected as high as a late 2nd round pick, but he fall because of serious knee concerns. If he stays healthy he could be a starter for the Dolphins. He can be a potential replacement for Lamar Miller who is in a contract year.
Grade B+

Round 5.  Cedric Thompson, FS Minnesota: He showed great range at free safety in college. He can be a replacement for Louis Delmas, who's coming off of ACL surgery and is in a contract year.
Grade B

Round 5. Tony Lippett, WR/CB Michigan State: He has a very high football IQ, and is a very versatile player who can play both corner and receiver. I project him as a better cornerback then receiver where he can use his length and ball skills to make a big turnover. Grade B-

Overall Grade: B+
